Though early student work, I consider this flier as a sort of milestone in my career.
While attending art school I became a work study, or student employee, in the Fine Arts & Design Department at Ivy Tech. My work included helping students with assignments, cleaning and organizing the photo studio, prepping the gallery for shows, taking notes at faculty meetings, and occasionally getting the chance to engage in design work on various inter-department projects, such as the flier above. I based the design off a map of the street layout of the surrounding area of the field trip destination and simplified the look.
The main reason this flier is such a big deal to me is because my boss, who was also one of my instructors and mentor, was immediately pleased with it. That was the first time as a student that he didn't have me revise or completely start over on a project.
